Keaira's Tale

Contributed by Angelic_Demon on Thursday, 22nd January 2004 @ 12:01:02 AM in AEST
Topic: DarkPoetry

Wondering...
Sleeping...
Hunting.

Throughout the night I wonder,
Trying to find the meaning of life,
A life that I am doomed forever to live.
Cursed with the curse of immortality,
Something, in which I never wanted,
But still find myself cursed with.

Sleeping, oh , always sleeping.
Through the day, having nothing else to do.
Same pattern, sleep, hunt, and sleep more.
I await death yet it shall never come,
That eternal sleep I long for,
Unless Death meets me on my doorstep,
In the form of my hunter.

Hunting, always hunted.
Ironic as it is that I am the hunted,
I hunt too.
For you see, my life has always revolved the thought of hunting...
My hunter, the one that made me what I am this day.
A cursed soul in the form of a twenty-seven year old.
A thousand years passing, I still find I am hunted.
I wonder why I don't just damn my life and get it over with.

Yet when I grab the dagger each night,
I remember those that depend upon me.
My sister... oh so naive and sarcastic in her ways,
And my brother, whom will never change his ways,
They need me, living this cursed life.
Others like myself, that know me,
For I am older then many,
Having wondered, slept, and hunted,
Trying to figure out the meaning of this cursed life.

I love this... Of course, anything having to do with vampires or the undead is of great interest to me.. it just fascinates me, I'm not saying I necessarily believe in them... :-s.. yeah, anyway, the poem rocked!
