LovePoetry
|
the lover gone, strayed
off on a tangent he said
following his heart
while he trampled mine
I sat in the bathtub
smoking cigarettes
drinking wine until 4 AM
nicotine coma
his socks left behind
at the bottom of the bed
between the sheets
where we used to make love
maybe not love, but lust
needy greedy animals
tired of trying, so hard to please
it's quiet here, alone
draw the drapes and sleep
who cares if he never comes back

Your poem was really vivid in my mind. I thought you did a great job. Kie |
