Grievances for the Absent Heart

Once again the tide turns-
The universe,
It never rests.
Soon, today will become
Tommorow's yesterday,
And, I too often forget to reflect
On the seldom bites of sweetness
I had once swallowed.
I know too,
That I will become like you;
Old in my bones
Back hunched down to my knees,
Wisdom below my teeth
Waiting for an honest ear
To waste a fading breath
On those who fail to hear...
I too see the world-
Chaos about like a thief;
Splendor is no more
Then a cup of coffee
And well written word.
Where is the ecstasy that felt like heavan?
The cosmic certainty we talked about...
If the angels knew of sin,
Surely they'd clip their wings
Because sex is better than flying,
But it seems that love does not exist...
Or, have I failed to see it?
It's in its mystery I can't resist..
But still, I cannot spare one moment,
One single drop of faith
When all I see is suffering
And the absence of meaning.
Now my mind is all I have to offer
But, I have yet to give it up
Beacuse misery loves me
With a sharp tongue
And sometimes the bitterness
Becomes just too much....
