Defenders of the Keep

Contributed by tanna on Monday, 2nd September 2002 @ 02:40:44 PM in AEST
Topic: fantasy

Dragon lore
Days of yore
Fair haired golden maid

Creature of might
Scales like night
Exhaling breath decayed

Trembling with fear
She will persevere
Maiden pairs with beast

Wings beat violently
Air churns silently
The demon now released

The duo ascends
Apocalypse impends
For these final champions of the Keep

The enemy approaches
The battle encroaches
Angels above them weep

With one mighty breath
The duet conveys death
To the horrified mob below

Emitting great flame
With intention to maim
They set the Heavens aglow

Firedrake and nymph regard the scene
Serpentine eyes furious, blue eyes serene
The enemy surges back in terror

They've ignited the ire
They've stoked a fire
The adversarys fatal error

The unlikely pair has nothing to lose
To defend their home is what they choose
They descend with one intent

They exterminate the foe
With one wicked blow
His firey breath now spent

To her hearth they withdraw
Her family in awe
Unlikely heros who have preserved their home

These two of one heart
Must now depart
The dragon is freed to roam

Her deeds over time are forgot
But she just cannot
For in her heart she will always remember

The great firey beast
She had once released
With burning eyes like ember

I cannot see where you thought this wasn't good. I see a story I had to read to the end, while it read well too. Fine writing to me. Gave very good details of that time. I love that time, the early celtic and lore, love that stuff......... seems sometimes, I am with it from another time, of course, thats just the dreams in me...
Always, Amber Rose :)
