The Faeries Spell

Contributed by ginsdance on Monday, 2nd September 2002 @ 02:39:38 PM in AEST
Topic: mythology

Faeries dance upon the wind,
Their aura softly glows,
And what their magik will bring,
Only they can know.
Mumbling incantations
Over potions sweet and pure,
The faeries gain their ancient art
Their purpose now assured.
Calling on four elements
Fire, Water, Earth, and Air,
The faeries dance within their circles
And with other spirits fair.
The air joins them
Softly soughing her sweet song,
And gently chooses to surround them
With her presence all night long.
Then fire joins them,
All passion in his grasp,
Chooses to warm the faeries
Grant to them what they ask.
Earth springs up beneath their feet
To join this old sweet song,
And now, mingling with the air,
Will stay the whole night long.
Last to join them is the water
Giver of life and rebirth,
Joins the summons of the faeries
Gurgling her mirth.
The faeries softly chant and sing
As is their ancient right,
And then Spring's beauty enfolds them
And engulfes the winter's might.
Another battle duly fought
The faeries disappear,
Leaving only the element Earth,
A reminder that they were here.
And so it is at winter's end,
And at every single season,
The faeries that we never see...
They will always have their reasons.

I really like this, and, with your permission, I would like to add it to my Imbolc ritual, will you agree? It's soooo beautiful.
