Grown Men Don't Cry

Contributed by jonbalser on Tuesday, 20th January 2004 @ 01:12:59 PM in AEST
Topic: Lifepoems

Crying is a sign of weakness
In the eyes of a man
When the tears stream down
We duck for cover
Praying that no one has seen
The drips pouring down our face
The one exception no matter
Who is around, or who
They may be,
When you lose the one
You love most, and
A river begins to form
At the bottom of your feet
And you look around
Everyone is standing,
Taking a look
Still the tears fall
No one is laughing
Or making jokes,
When you really love someone,
The tears of pain are worth
As much to you as to
The one you love
You take another look around,
Your friends standing near
Willing to hold you down
Willing to guide your pain
Willing to pull you though
Still no one is talking or making
Jokes, there standing and waiting
Waiting to see what you do next
Do you run and hide
Or run and fight
Fight for love loved you shared,
And the time that you spent
Building what you have
And what you just lost,
Their there to help
To see you through
Take there hand,
Let them walk you through

touching and my friend I have no problem at all with a man crying. Tears cleanse us man or woman its healthy and just as this poem said someone should always be there in support to take your hand and walk you through no matter what.

I admit I used to see crying as a weakness. It usually takes more to cry though. This poem was great. Written very very well. I like the style and wording in this one.
