The Moon and the Sun

Contributed by Mouth on Monday, 19th January 2004 @ 07:44:31 PM in AEST
Topic: oops

The sun, with his flaming rays
Boasts too magnificent a light
For any man to long gaze sight
Casting illumiantion across the lands
Like a candle lighting a thousand fires
In a dark room, revealing
The animation of the world
In it's full glory
And illustrious allure.
He brings us the warm days
Filled with the memories
And laughter of youth
In it's ever fading gleam,
Like a canvas the awaits
To re-create the undying dream.
While the moon,
Her pale disposition
Quietly whispers lullabies
To a sleeping world
With her soulful weepy words,
Casting the shadows
In an already dark land
Silently hiding in the sky
Like a well kept secret.
Her moods undulate like her form,
From a silver fang-
To a full mounted array
Of pure fasioned ever present light
Modest in it's presentation,
However; bold in contrast
To the gloomy night sky she rules.
The stars compliment her form
Like a smile would,
Shining to salute her demure glow.
So not to ask why
She is only half the radiance of the sun
Only to rule the same sky?
Her fair lady does not brood in this truth-
You see, Because
It is she that stirs the dreams and desires
Of men midst their deep sleep,
Giving them time for thought and wonder
Away from the wild wild world.
In the end though,
It remains the same
Night and day are tamed by opposite light.
The sun-
He shouhts and shines with all his might
To reveal the day,
And the moon quietly charms the night
With a faint unearthly glow of wisdom,
Men would die to know.
The sun and moon seem to be
Just like men and women,
Two very different lights
That rule the same sky....
