Darkness

Topic: DarkPoetry

She sits in the corner,
As she listens to voices.
Not knowing where they’re coming from,
Yet she knows they are there.

They tell her to do so many things,
Yet she doesn’t know what to do,
If she should listen to the voices,
Or if she should listen to her instincts.

She’s so confused,
She tries to sleep, but can never get there.
She wakes up in the middle of the night,
Thinking of things that could have been.

When she does sleep,
She dreams things like no other.
Her dreams are so confusing,
Life threatening and annoying.

She thinks of the times she was quiet,
The times she never fought.
She sits and talks to herself,
As she reminisces.

She tells herself that she can get through it,
Yet she really doesn’t believe it.
Sometimes she tries,
Sometimes she doesn’t.

She just has no idea what to do.

She wonders and wonders,
Of what her life could have been.
She decides she’ll never know,
And gives up there and then.

She doesn’t know why,
She doesn’t understand.
She thinks about her past,
And what happened.
She thinks about what she can change now,
To make herself better.

She tries to understand,
To love and care.
To feel emotions,
She’s never felt before.

She thinks about the life she lived,
And if she can stand it any longer.
She remembers the stories,
Of the utter most horrible times.

The story she remembers the most,
Was the one of her grandmother dying,
And the second is one that shall never be forgotten,
It was the time when her father was put in prison.

She’ll have stories to tell,
Of the school she attended.
She remembers her elementary school years,
When down her face come the tears.

She had wisdom of some things beyond her years,
Other things weren’t as easily understood.
So many things happened,
She doesn’t know how to explain.
When she thinks about them,
Her eyes, they start to rain.

Then sometimes, she gets this gut feeling,
That one day everything will be alright.
She’ll live a happy life,
And finally end that long flight.

But today,
Today, she’s there again.
She’s sitting in that corner,
Deciding on whether to listen to those voices or not.

This is one sad poem, a real heart breaker and tear jerker, but remeber life can be hard, and sometimes it just downright sucks, but sooner or later you will find what you want in life and then all will be better.
Hang in there.

You know Jamie, reading this poem and think of what you had been through, it almost brought tears to my eyes....... and I am not kidding this time........ don't worry, you will not be alone in the corner any more, even if you do, it will be the voice of gentle whisper of night you hear..... everything will be all right..... I promise.........
