When I was about three,
My father left me,
Always went to bars,
To get some beer, so he could drink away his fear.
Probably only went to get drunk and find some teenage girl for sex.
Walking from bar to bar,
Having sex with every teenage girl that was willing.
Days passed and the same ***** was happening.
Times hadn’t changed to how they were before,
You were still being that nasty man whore.
Stayed out late; never called;
Never told mom where you were headed,
It was obvious though,
Were you with that same teenage hoe?
When you left,
You came back like 3 or 4 days later,
Never intended to stay for more than an hour,
You were gone again,
Never looked at your 3 kids for about 2 to 3 weeks at a time.
You always had us crying,
Yet when mom told you,
You acted like you didn’t know what the hell she was talking about.
Months went by,
Mother still dealt with your nonsense.
She waited, and dealt with your abuse when you were drunk,
Dealt with you never being there.
Never once did you think about your kids.
You drank more and more,
Mother started hating it; couldn’t stand it anymore.
So she kicked you out.
Where’d you run?
It’s where you always went when you had problems,
When you wanted to hide,
It was your parents’ house.
And even then, you had no respect and refused all responsibility.
You still ran to bars,
To make your parents think you were working.
They never knew,
They thought you worked overtime.
Eventually you started calling my house,
But never for me.
It was always for Lizzy and Jerry,
I wondered if you knew I existed.
I guess not,
For the simple fact that,
Years passed and I still heard no word from you.
I knew it was coming,
But I never thought so soon or so bad.
You were in an accident,
From drinking and driving.
Not only had you committed one crime,
But you killed two people and injured others, and you
Had the nerve to go to court and get your sentence lowered?
You stupid ass,
All you did was get yourself more time.
You’re now sitting in jail for life,
Do you ever think about your ex-wife?
Or us kids?
Maybe you think about Lizzy and Jerry,
But what about me?
I never got a birthday card,
They did.
As a matter of fact I remember where you were on my first birthday,
You were at that same bar with your “friends” drinking.
I went in my room and cried,
But oh well, I’m over that now.
Because now you’re sitting in a grungy jail cell,
While I live my life without you,
I think I can last the rest of it.
When you die,
Will I be upset?
Yes, you’re my father,
But will it affect me?
I doubt it,
I lived without you this far,
I can last without you forever!!

my heart aches for you I can relate to every single word you spoke of this is sad and brings me back haunting memories. Noone should have to grow up in this way. Sadly the alcoholic of the household is sick and they really dont know what they are doing or havent done because half of life they dont even remember because they were drunk.
