A mother to be

Contributed by fallen_angel on Saturday, 17th January 2004 @ 09:15:55 AM in AEST
Topic: MiscPoems

He said he'd never leave me
he'd always be there
things seemed as they were
meant to be
but when I became pregnant
he did not care

The love that was suppose to last
had ended all so fast

The child within
he claims is not his
He called me a whore and
left slamming the door

Leaving me in tears,
all on my own having
to face a new world of fears

All on my own
with no where to go
why did I say yes when I should have
said NO

I'm only sixteen and a mother to be
my scholarships gone,
college is out ,
why did this have to happen to me

My life wasn't suppose to be this way
in school this morning I was sick
I had to miss first class today

Yesterday the other girls
made jokes, laughing
they said soon
I would start to show
and that every one
will know

I tried so hard not to cry
but they are right
this isn't something I can hide
no matter how hard I try

My parents hate me
they refuse to help, in there eyes
I am a slut, this isn't
they way things are suppose to be

I'm only sixteen and a mother to be
for you all I can say is be smart not easy
and you won't end up like me

welcome to the real world where men are all just tall four year olds and think first, lastly, only of themselves, i have a good feeling about you and believe things will work out, when you see your baby's face and hold them in your arms none of this will matter, you will be over-whelmed with love and peace, im proud of you in your decision to have your baby, i would die for my kids they are the best thing that ever happened to me, and hey hey the good news is when all of those snobby girls finally decide to have kids someday you will be a fit, trim together lady with a lot more energy and knowledge then them, hehe, i do not approve of your parents response to you, but that is me, if you ever want to talk to someone im here for you, much love and a huge big warm hug, love nessa

I like you got pregnant very young (17), and its true that its very hard to be a mother at this age. I also think our youth makes us stronger and lets us relate more easily to our children. I feel your pain, but I know everything will work out in the end. If you ever want to talk Im always open to it.
