GETTING AHEAD

Be thankful for what you’ve got.
Cry not at what you don’t.
There are many who want something,
But work for it they won’t.

They sit and hang their heads.
They say they get no chances.
So while the tears fall from their eyes,
The other man advances.

They believe success is owed them.
They never learned hard work.
In jealousy they subconsciously
Think successful people are jerks.

Cry not, weep not, try, try try.
Put forth effort for what you want,
And you’ll get it by and by,
And always be proud that you tried.
