Darkness avails me in this fight
For you cannot see darkness whence there is light
I see him in the mist ahead
I am veiled in sorrow, shame, and dread
He corrupts and consumes all he stumbles upon
I am his next victim
I cannot hide, I cannot escape
Immobilized by fear I am transformed into stone
Yet what I fear most of all; is being alone
Coming closer to me I can sense his deadly escense
I feel his breath upon my chest
Like ice cicles carressing my body
Feeling my blood flowing away from my heart
My conciessness is frozen
In his hooded face I see many people
People I have seen before, long forgotten
All dreams begin to coil within him
I see everyone, and yet I see no one
And whence he is finished with his task
I see my soul within his grasp
Floating towards him
Whither now shall I go?
Against my will he is mine and I his
As I now levitate into the undaunted abyss
My body is gone, but I still linger here
In the realm of eternal shadow and fear
Destiny revealing to me what could have been
He gives me his hand
I clasp it tight'
I give in

well that was depressing...

While every care is taken to ensure the general sites content is family safe, our moderators cannot be in all places; all the time. Please report poetry and or comments that are in breach of our site rules HERE (Please include poem title or url). Parents also please ensure that you supervise your children well when they are on the internet; regardless of what a site says about being, or being considered, child-safe.

Poetry is much like a great photo, a single "moment in time" capturing many feelings and emotions. Yet, they are very alive; creating stirrings within the readers who form visual "pictures" of the expressed emotions within the Poem. ©
