I sat upon this top stair,
And looked down at you, and watched,
I watched you wait,
You wait for me to open the door,
You wait for me to open my heart,
To open my heart for you to break again,
My heart refuses you, you may not regain.
While sat here,
Upon my raised platform,
With a stairway of broken promises,
Protruding from my toes,
I watch you wait,
Wait for me to fall,
From my platform at your prompted call.
Still you wait,
Beyond that glazed glass divide,
Do you still wish to pursue me?
If this divide were transparent,
Would you share with me these tears?
This is the part of me which you fear,
For you always wished for my heart to be clear.
You turn your back,
On this, On me, On our glazed separation,
Am I meant to feel this regret?
After all this is my fault,
I ignored you and your apologies,
And as I descend from my residence upon this stair,
This walk is burnt by the fact that you now do not care.
