sleeping alone

Contributed by lonesomerose on Friday, 16th January 2004 @ 02:59:29 AM in AEST
Topic: SadPoetry

Cold winter night ice on the roads
lonesome here tonight its to quiet.

The stillness after a snowfall here
is almost unnerving to me for a moment.

House is warm yet cold at the same time
only sound is the clock on the hours chime.

Wind is howling a souless moan
that seems as lonely as I feel.

Now Im here all alone tonight
it seems as though time stands still.

Fluffy pillows on a comfy bed
hand made quilt to lesson the chill.

As soft as it may be
it doesnt make up for sleeping alone.

Wow, This poem is such an emotional one..... it brough me right into your world. The thought of beeing so warm and yet so cold, a bed so soft but yet so painful..... wow.... and you know the weirdest thing is--- in my computer room here (where I'm sitting right at this moment), there is a chime clock behind me. when I read "only sound is the clock on the hour's chime", it chimed! as if it was cued by your writing =) lol......
Crazy stuff.... =)

Well done.

God bless (and hugs),
Ellen

You brought tears to my eyes, I can certainly relate. "Wind is howling a souless moan
that seems as lonely as I feel" That hit home.
Great poem. Kie
