The Bookkeeper

Contributed by Butterat_Zool on Sunday, 1st September 2002 @ 07:36:01 PM in AEST
Topic: SongLyrics

Cold damp and solid,
the stones inside the church,
the water runs over,
silent since the Birth.

A thief in the night,
in the cold,
wrapped in cloth,
looking to save
the world
with his breath
creeps,
walks around
disappears
in the dark.
Close your eyes
close them tight.
You are safe,
my girl.

And the ledger burns.
And the ledger burns.
And the ledger burns.
And the ledger burns.

A book of Latin,
Book of Angels,
Book of Wisdom,
Books of Sin,
Pray humility and wait
for secrecy within
Eraser-man is coming
and Eraser-man will win.
Everything got quiet
when I mentioned
Books of Sin.
One way’s God’s,
One is not
Which is which
though, friend?

And the ledger burns.
And the ledger burns.
And the ledger burns.
And the ledger burns.
And the ledger burns.
And the ledger burns.
And the ledger burns.
And the ledger burns.

Eraser-man is coming
and Eraser-man will win.
Tell me now,
my children,
where your path will end.

You've written yet another fabulous piece... I can't get enough of your work!! I'd really like to hear your songs... I love reading the lyrics and I would love to hear how the words sound coming from you... })({ ~Adreana

Eraser-man... I guess that would be a good way to describe Him, however I don't think anything will be erased, how could we learn if we have nothing to look back on? Good write, and although my days are filled with sin... I look forward to His loving embrace.

Hmm... I never even thought that God could be descibed as Eraser-man. I am constantly amazed by my biases towards my own poems. I suppose i just need to learn how to write more blatantly. Eraser-man is censorship, or at least, it was intended to be. A ledger is a records-book. All the records books were being burned. Thus, censorship. That's who i see as Eraser-man.
