A poets mind, quite apart from his words
No complex riddle, no simple lie
Is this the meager leavings of one so vain?
Yet eyes do deceive, the words still live
No mans land, belongs to the dead
The shrill screams of those clawing to survive
No single cause but man, no blame to place
For gone is gone, the ghost of those still living
One, who might have been, the son of a ghost
Not even the thought of what might have been
A life taken, no laws to subside
What to be taken if there was nothing there?
No empty shell, no pit of despair
The ghost beside you, isn’t this fair?
