The Heartbreak Effect

Contributed by TheNewWayOfHurt on Tuesday, 13th January 2004 @ 11:37:50 PM in AEST
Topic: EmotionalPoetry

For the life of me I cannot beleive you let me down, but this will be the last time
I wish I could say I never saw it coming when we both know I always fell short when it came to lieing
You left me for dead and wasted on your empathy, I won't forgive, rest assured I will never forget what you said to me that night

Speaking of nights I haven't slept in days
I'm wide awake and living with my head in hands
This is jealousy at my high demand

Your apologies fall like rain until they surely drown us all
Its to bad you've always been to late
Don't ever trace your steps let alone breath my name
I swear I won't stand for taking this fall

Months will slowly pass and I now sleep with a tight grasp around my grudge
And I can't help but thinking I'll wake up with a new reason to live
But the temperature is dropping, I'll stay locked in my room and let november take its toll on my lungs

Breaths can always be better spent on words that withstand the heartbreak effect
This time line after line is my breakdown
The tears I've shed can only account for the blood on your hands
A disaster you rested on my shoulders
The same disaster I have yet to let go
