You make me uncomfortable
with your insincere gestures
of some imagined civility we must have.
You don't intend to ever truly reach me.
You don't want to feel anything for me.
But, like a master, you pretend.
Don't smile at me
that way
because it's just like ice
and it chills me deep down.
Truly
I'd rather feel
your hateful slaps
on my face
than your apathy.
Manners were not created
to separate our souls from one another.
