When I Were 10

Take me back,
To pre-adolescence,
Restore to me,
My youth.
The only tears that were spilt,
Back when I were 10,
Were that of physical hurt,
after a fall,
or a bump,
Visual pain.
Take me back,
Return to me my faith,
reunite me with my dreams,
my hopes.
Everything was so rosy,
back when I were 10,
Now life has flipped,
And tossed me into reverse,
Now I these cry tears,
Of burning, emotional hurt.
Take me back,
Replace my youthful routine,
Amend my childish heart,
my desires.
Life appeared as a gift,
Back when I were 10,
Now life is my only hindrance,
These tears are my longing,
To be a purified,
To have the heart,
That I had, Back when I were 10.
