Game of Shame

Contributed by SkYYBLu on Tuesday, 13th January 2004 @ 06:46:43 PM in AEST
Topic: AngryPoetry

Surrounded by your friends
And all your happiness
And under that disguise of yours
You say that you love me all the more
I CANNOT BELEIVE
I HAVE BEEN DECEIVED
YOU ARE NOTHING BUT A LIE
A FALSE HOPE IN DISGUISE
Because of you I cry
Shame overthrows sanity
I soothe my mind with lies
And your false sympathy
Telling me that you know
Telling me that care care
I feel so alone
I can't feel you here
SHUT YOUR MOUTH
YOU'RE BLINDED FROM THE TRUTH
All you talk about
Is your troubled youth
Everything is false
Including your empathy
You don't know how to be a friend
This game of shame will never end
You tell me that you love me
You tell me that you care
Yet I am overlooked by you
'Cause your friends are everywhere
They must be more important
You love everyone equally
How special does that make ME?!!
Surrounded by your friends
Beseiged by love
The only love that I get
Is whatever is left
I am sick of being replaced!!
I am sick of seeing your face!!
I am sick of showing so much love
And hiding so much hate
All that I am
Is what you want me to be
I'm taking off the mask
Removing my disguise
Whatever is left behind it
Is all of your lies
You have decieved me
FOR THE LAST TIME!!!

Very good write. I think most can relate. I know I can... Many of my poems I have done relate to the same type subject... My ex-fiencee took my love as her own personal game and used it when she needed it. False hopes, filled with false love = Broken torn tattered hearts... Very good write, keep them coming.

Hell yes I can relate. Quote - "I am sick of showing so much love and hiding so much hate" - I loved this line. This whole peom describes something I went through 3 years ago which went on for 2 years. Don't let it destroy you, like I had. I loved this write. Take care and all the best.

Emma.

This is one of the poems were I could just cry to. I had a boy lie to me about loving me, and I don't think thats right. Always showing off infront of friends.
