I'm sorry you had to leave in a huff
I love you so and all that stuff,
Keep playing cards most every night,
I know it has to be what's right.
So hurry home, I'll hug you, dear,
We'll sit around and have some beer.
I won't be jealous of all your friends,
And that is how this sonnet ends.
Norm's Answer to a Wonderful Wife
My darling, I'll come home to you,
As soon as with the cards I'm thru,
It's true you spoil me for sure,
With acts of kindness we endure.
We'll use the jokers, end it fast,
At Ten the deal will be the last,
Win or lose, it doesn't matter,
I cannot wait, your feet to patter.
