LovePoetry

Distance is a cruel chain, a heavy shackle
With a tremendous lock, holding love out.
At night I sleep alone in this wilderness,
A heart dressed in rags on the cold, hard ground.
I am dissolved to almost nothing without you,
My colors grown transparent as the rain
Falling endlessly around me.
You are my shelter, My One, My Beloved.
In a place somewhere far outside of Eden,
Where the streets glow at night like sacred rivers,
Love, come find me.

Thank you for your comment, this started out as a romantic piece, but by the time it was completed, over a process of some time, it took on a meaning to me beyond romantic love, which is why I titled it as I did. |
