What Happens?

I sit in the middle,
Alone but surrounded,
In the midst of chaos and confusion.
It distracts me as I ignore
The pushing and pulling and undecent talk.
I can't just leave it all and take a walk.
I wish I had a breath
Of fresh air to breathe,
But I have to make due
With this polluted toxicity
We call life.
We've forgotten our morals,
We've placed our ethics and standards
On a shelf we can't reach.
America's turned away from
The ways it was founded,
The foundation of Christianity.
What happens now,
When Congress begins taking away our rights?
What happens when they ignore the Constitution
Of this great land?
What happens?
What happens
Is America
Isn't America
Anymore.

AMEN!!!!!!!! What's all that talk about taking out "In God we trust"? Our nation was founded on Christian principals. If they take away what we've built upon, then where are we? They can't take away the very basis of our heritage. It's just wrong. And in a way, it's always been like that.... popular American culture eating away at our morals.... it's just sad. You've expressed this so well. Kudos....
God bless,
Ellen |
