Memories

Contributed by Valerie_Pearson on Tuesday, 13th January 2004 @ 12:47:16 PM in AEST
Topic: LoveRemembered

Tis, ageless are the memories,
as February skies renew,
wondering, when we will meet,
and touch the hands of you,

~~~~
Grandpa, how your light still shines,
with you, we knew it would,
The day we said good-by to you,
we never understood,
~~~~

You left us not a parting,
but strong roots to carry on,
because Grandpa, all in whom you touched,
knew that you were fond,

~~~~
You thought of us so plentiful,
with all your heart and soul,
your spirit filled us gracefully,
before you had to go,
~~~~
Consoled by your deep love,
that graced us thru these years,
In February skies we gaze,
holding back the tears,
~~~~
And so we sigh in memory,
once again to see your face,
knowing that your love is near,
as you reside in Heaven's grace!
( though I was only 4 years old when he died, he left an everlasting mark on my heart )
... Speechless, he must have been a really greatgrandad to you, that young to write something so passionate about the memories you have of him.
Keep up the good work
Hi Val
First I would like to thank you for your comment on my poems. I pray God lead me in all I wrote! I just wanted to say how I enjoyed you writing in memory of Grandpa Roeske. It is amazing how people that pass through our live for only a moment can leave such a lasting impression! I know you will see Him again!
Chester
