The Ironic Day

Contributed by Dreama on Monday, 12th January 2004 @ 10:16:06 PM in AEST
Topic: Lifepoems

today has taught me that the world is not set
every action and decision has consequences beyond comprehension
from the moment of birth we are sculpted by our surroundings
tho we still do not understand the magic of creation
our beliefs and personalities are only part of the soul
life is so unbelievabley complex that i feel honored to be a part of it
for too long i have been looking for what is wrong with my situation
scruitantising every recess of my personality in the mean time
now i am wiser and my thoughts are my own
i have shed the veils of deceit language entails
we feel comforted to be able to label everything we recognise
and there are some to which the unknown is frightening
yet it is only our greed which generates this fear
and the powers that be must not be bent on destruction
i have learned to view things as they are
dare i say i see what life is
creation is the meaning
we are here to change space as we see fit
it is such a glorious gift that many take for granted
and which few experience
the tenth of the brain we know we use includes
memory, motor skills, sub-conscious atonomy, biological maintanence,
speech, distinction, understanding and (the big one) conscious thought
even though our lives are nearly utterly shaped by others around us
we also have the ability to influence them
by whatever means and for whatever ends we desire
and what, might we ask, do we desire?
wealth? happiness? love? experience?
we are created with an indefinate amount of time to succeed in what we do
so we should push our selves once in a while to do or make something extra ordinary
for if we didnt and the gift was returned
then what would we be proud of to leave behind?
i feel my life is unfurfullied
i have not yet done what i am ment to
the most powerful words in the universe are
i am

Poetry is much like a great photo, a single "moment in time" capturing many feelings and emotions. Yet, they are very alive; creating stirrings within the readers who form visual "pictures" of the expressed emotions within the Poem. ©
