Inside solitude

The darkness surrounds me,
Covering me like black velvet,
It consumes me,
And eats me inside,
It loves me,
And takes away the light,
It wont release me
It just pulls me out of sight.
It eats me,
It ends my life,
Pulling me apart,
Tearing out my sides,
Feeling fingers pull at my flesh,
I'm losing all vision,
But seeing my death.
The darkness inside me,
It grows into flame,
Making me stronger but angry again,
Burning my happiness,
Into sadness and pain,
It empowers me,
It's a nightmare again.
In sleep I find solitude,
no pain or distain,
but when the dream ends I live a nightmare again.

Simply beautiful. I'm sure you've noticed by now that I'm repeating myself alot, but I truly can't find words to describe the pictures you create. very well written

My own inner world is such as lets me relate to this in many ways ...
I sometimes feel as though I swim in these depths alone...nice to see a kindred in these waters!

Chilling a reason to embrace insomnia. Lots of latenight movies, coffee, poems and pen. One thing occurs to shake off the nightmare:
"A bit of advice given to a young Native American at the time of his initiation: "As you go the way of life, you will see a great chasm. Jump. It is not as wide as you think."
- Joseph Campbell
It maybe the jump we all have to make thats staring back at you. Provocative and stimulating. Ten thousand Blessing of Peace.
Bravely Done
Peace

"I'm losing all vision,
But seeing my death."
That was bloody poetic! I like this one, again the desperation, conveyed quite well.
Take care,
