Where they hide the moonshine
Old howls and notions
Dismantled relics
The unwanted and lonesome
A tomb for the unclaimed
The hushed and stolen
In a matchbox where the floorboard
Grunts, wedges into the corners
And squats with the morsels and crumbs
Anchors and scandals
The pulse of the shingles
Faint and fading fast
A collapsed cocoon
A darkroom for deviants
Hung from lopsided rafters
By their short-ends
Nodding
And the murmurs of
A vacant hatching
Flawed and hidden
In a cluster of
What legends are made of
Orphans and outcasts and gypsies
