Night Encloses

Night encloses, darkness,
Licks it's tongue into the corners
Of the town,
A burnt out cigar,
In the mouth of a frown,
Sits still.
Deep purple/black skies,
Strangle the light out of my eyes,
As the sky bleeds,
After melting,
All over the sea.
And still I know darkness,
Will never truly,
Touch me.
I watch the night fold,
Around this town of old,
And wonder what morning may bring,
A reversal of colours,
A package of dollars,
Promise, of a new song
to sing.

Great! I'm so glad you think that, I feel so satisfied my poem has done for you what I intended it to do, which was primarily to paint that picture in the readers mind...
Thanks!
