Verse:
remembering the first time we met
was a moment I will never forget
the way you smiled at me
you looked so heavenly
the way your eyes lit up so bright
god that was the most beautiful sight

I trembled as I sounded the words
but you made me feel so calm
and i doubt i will ever see
why you said yes for a date with me
and I knew that you were full of intrigue
and that I was way out of my league

and then you took my hand
and all my dreams with you were planned
with all my prayers and wishes of new
with all my hopes and dreams of you
the closest to heaven I've ever been, I knew
your's were the sweetest eyes I've ever seen

Chorus:
I hope I'm not asking for much
when I ask you to stay here beside me
I'll show all the city lights
I'll share with you all the velvet nights
please just stay here beside me

Verse:
during all those cold winter nights
we stayed together by the fire
it burned colours so bright
holding close a passionate desire
with the music playing a soft sound
all my worries and fears were drowned

looking back at what we went through
I'm glad I went through with you
our childhood games might now be gone
but at least I'm not all alone
all I wanted was for you to stay
and when you did I'd love you more everyday
