There is a small town, just East of here,
Where lived a man by the name of Greer,
Now Greer was no angel this much is true,
But one sunny day, simply outta the blue,
He took out his shotgun and with a blast,
He rode off into the sunset, and into the past

Pain, death, remembrance, even a setting...all in six lines. Very well done.
Truly,
