when in reality

Contributed by ladyfawn on Sunday, 11th January 2004 @ 12:03:31 AM in AEST
Topic: Lifepoems

it has been a very long road traveled to find someone i care about as much as you
so, here we calmly sit, acting like we have all the time in the world, when in reality
we have only another thirty six precious hours to share kisses and hold one another tight
then again we will be half a world away in the lovers land of the eternal midnight sun
that forever place, unendingly land of long days, longer nights, hemisphere's separation
what to do, what to do, there are no easy answers, for you will not decide upon one

let's eat and makelove later, for we have many hours left together, for we won't face the music
of ~life: it is too much taken for granted by many, cherrished by few who've loved, lost, loved
again, the earth turns on its axis, the moon becomes a full orb, then silver whispery cresent
what is it all for? why not end the cycle now? because i'm too curious and stubborn, that's why
to have a heart that for a lifetime has had layers slowly peeled off from it, until like an artichoke
it has but one layer left to work with, which has made me strong, but what of this lastly bit?

it has been a very long road traveled to find someone i care about as much as you
so, here we calmly sit, acting like we have all the time in the world, when in reality...

Very very very touching!!! It has a bitter end, So sad to read, hope things will change for for!! As for the poem its really vivid and well written. The 'When in reality....' part made me reflect about certain things. Very appropriate wording, couldn't write better!
Hope you find peace,
Anne

Wow.. this is so different from anything I've ever read by you. Such a sad and bitter undertone... yet your words are so beautiful:

"the lovers land of the eternal midnight sun"

Love the artichoke comparison. No one ever said love was easy, and for good reason. Seems to me the more you love and need someone, the harder it is. The circumstances just seem to work themselves out that way somehow. I think I hate that more than anything else about life. Love always,

~ Dee

Nessa, what an angel you are, these words are so heart-fulling but yet they are longing to be, love is a lasting vineyard, time granted is a great blessing, he holds you as you hold him, best to you always, take care, Love ya always Val

Awwww Nessa, this is so sad. You must have had a hard time writing this. I feel for you my friend. I know I'm a little late commenting, but it's better late than never. *S* Cynthia
