Trust

So many things, all in a child's eye,
searching above to the sky,
So many things hurt,
So many things have been learnt,
But one thing I cant ever do
Is trust anyone, not even you

Everytime I trusted someone,
they betrayed me,
and always made fun,
They couldnt see,
that a little honesty,
could go such a long way

I tried, I put trust in to many people
I thought they needed me,
Even trusted god and his steeple,
But why couldnt I see,
They didnt want me, just my body
It should have been so simple

Now I walk, alone and betrayed
To the edge of my life,
Still used, dead and unsaved,
Trusting only the night,
Avoiding the inevitble fight,
With myself

But then you came along,
I didnt trust you at first,
Wanting to know what was wrong,
Wondering why I hurt,
And from all the lessons I learnt,
I couldnt trust in you

But you kept on, you persisted,
Driving me mad; Dont know what to do,
Kept asking, always insisted,
caring about me, helping me through,
Asking why, when where and who,
And your compassion has made me trust again
I now trust you, you help me though pain
And someday, I might even tell you

Absolutely stunning write. I still trust blindly although every time I have been betrayed. Glad that you have found that one to trust to make you trust again...still doesn't mean you can't be cautious. And do tell them won't you. Thanks for sharing.

Emma.
