We have nothing left to say to each other
So why do we drag this on
We are no longer ‘real’ friends
To me, you seem long gone.
You were once so much a part of me,
It was often hard to tell,
Where one ended and the other began.
But to my horror, this bond fell.
I loved you, and I always will
We shared more than the odd story
You knew my heart inside and out
You felt my pain, I felt your glory.
I’ve seen it in the depths of your eyes
You know it’s over too,
So why can’t I let go of ‘us’
Why can’t I let go of you?
