Funeral

Contributed by monkey on Saturday, 10th January 2004 @ 12:42:27 AM in AEST
Topic: Lifepoems

I stand by your casket
as tears stream
down my face
I reach out my hand
and gently caress
you face

I stand with you
after everyones gone
your hand in mine
I talk to you
reflecting on our memories

the next day
I cry again
as everyone puts flowers
on your closed casket
then its my turn

once again I stay
after everyones left
I fall on my knees
wishing
I could stay forver

before I know
its dusk
I force myself to stand
I place my yellow rose
on your fresh grave

This poem touched me deeply and reflected many memories....I lost a friend and though you may just have wrote this like that,I went through everything described in it.When I lost my friend I placed a yellow rose on her grave, which means freedom and friendship I heard.Everything hit home in your poem,it's truly weird,it's as if you were beside me that day and wrote a poem describing my day.I stayed when ppl left,I cried alone beside her and I stayed beside her for what seemed like a minute but when I got out it was dark.Wonderful poem,I am truly surprised reading it,astonished really.Keep posting,
PumpkinPie

Sad....very sad....I know what loosing someone close means and this poem made me remember. Death is devastating for those who remain living and a relief for those who doesn't what an irony!
