These Things I Miss. . .

That warm place
on the sheet
Every time you moved
your feet.
And my own
would always seek
the comfort hiding there.
The dimple
in your chin
When you'd shaved your beard
again,
On your face
a boyish grin
so endearing, sans hair.
The love words
gently spoken
Long before my heart
was broken
And the ring you gave
as token
of the life we were to share.
I know I'll
always miss
The spark ignited with
one kiss.
Had I known it would end
like this...
I would still have ventured there
