time travel

Contributed by Merry on Thursday, 8th January 2004 @ 09:01:39 AM in AEST
Topic: LostLove

open ended conversations
not about anything at all
given into considerations
of where we've been
but not where we're going
jostled amongst the crowds
lost in the sea of so many
is there anything at all
worth saving from the past
as i sort through boxes
reminders and last remains
chipped china and cracked frames
love letters fall from the pages
of ancient paperbacks
have i always been the same
distance from you as i am today
safe enough to make a getaway
anytime i want
no latches on the door
or keys to keep me locked
up in a frenzy over you
did i miss something along the way
i keep glancing at pictures
that suggest i might have
but there is no going back
