If Only I Remembered When I Was Worth Knowing

Contributed by ShadowDaughter on Thursday, 8th January 2004 @ 12:32:53 AM in AEST
Topic: oops

the only story
I like about myself
is, of course,
the one I don't remember
but my mother says
that I said this
I want to believe her
* * * * *
once there was a little girl
she went to a little preschool
and laughed in her little world
at this little preschool
there were many, many people
all different types
though the preschool was small
there were even two teachers
with the same name!
"Christine"
one had pale skin-- "white"
and one had dark skin-- "black"
one day at school,
the little girl skinned her knee
she started to cry
but Christine comforted her
later, the little girl told her mother
who asked, "which Christine?"
as she knew there were two,
the white and the black,
and the little girl answered,
"the one with long hair."
* * * * *
really, is it so very wrong
to want to be this girl again?

There is no truer happiness than that of a child. To recapture it, if even for a short period, would be a wonderful gift. Awesomefultastic poem.

Truly,
-Dan
