catharsis, or something like it

I drive in the dark
Immersed in yet another failure
Singing, Yelling, Crying
I’m neither here
nor any other place
and poetry is bleeding
in my lungs
I die a thousand deaths
Drowning all my memories
Rejecting all the pain
I smell nothing but my smoke
And leave nothing for my future
My tomorrow is uncertain
And I question all I’ve learned
I doubt the miles of road ahead of me
And regret the ones I’ve left behind
Shall I sell my soul tonight
Or will I find nothing there to sell
My ears are ringing full of death
The sounds of lies drive me insane
How can this be?
I drive alone
Immersed in all my failures
Yet again...

Nicely done. Catharsis was a vocab word on my English midterm today and I still don't know what it means. |
