Pain Left the Cage-door Open

Grief

Does pain rejoice in sweet harmony,
When from a cage happiness,
Is set free?
I think so, I heard it as I cried,
Five years ago now,
The day that you died.
My joy flew, lost forever I guess.
And pain serenades on
Amongst all of this mess.
Incomplete life, incomplete verse,
An open cage trailing,
Incomplete words.
An unhappy ending, to one happy rhyme,
The hole seems to grow bigger,
Over incomplete time.
