Sever the Strings

Sometimes you have to let go,
It's tough, believe me, I know,
It's just not enough, to simply say no,
you have to lay down the line, let the guy go.

As for the strings that bind you together,
Without a doubt, these you must sever,
Tell yourself they wouldn't have lasted forever,
Or withstood the pain, through all kinds of weather.

True, when you hear songs,
You both danced to back then,
you'll wish to heaven,
You were together again.

And every pizza you eat,
Will remind you to cry,
Because you ate it together,
Watching a seting sun sky.

And the candle you lit,
In the corner of your room,
For passionate nights,
Now lights nothing but gloom.

It's tough, mmhhmm...
Believe me, I know,
But if he don't treat you right,
You've got to let go.
