Sorry friends

I don’t have many friends alas,
Those I had just walk on past,
Maybe if I treated them right,
They’d still be here tonight.
No point in tears right now,
Should not have upset my pals,
My words seem to cut deep,
All my friendships end in a heap.
Need to learn to bite my tongue,
Shut my mouth and stay Mum,
If I’m lonely it’s my own fault,
Need to learn what I was taught.
So if you used to be my mate,
And we haven’t talked of late,
Please accept that I am sorry,
Changing ways, different story.
Used to love my own voice,
Giving others no other choice,
Now I will I so do swear,
What you say, I will hear.

I found this so sad and heartfelt. It is a really nice poem and flows wonderfully.
