WOKE UP THIS MORNING, KNEW IT WAS TIME TO GO
THIS TOWN HAS NOTHING HERE FOR ME ANY MORE.
ALL THE BUSINESS ARE SHUTTING DOWN,
AND WHITE WASHED WINDOWS ARE ALL YOU SEE.
IT’S NOT THE TYPE OF TOWN IN, WHICH YOU WANT TO BE.
POLUTION FILLS THE SHREET, AND VOILANCE IS EVERYWHERE,
PEOPLE ARE AFRAID TO COME OUT OF THEIR HOUSES AFTER DARK.
THIS IS NOT THE HOMETOWN I WANT MY CHILD TO KNOW,
SO AFTER SOME CAREFUL CONSISTERATION, I’VE DECIDED IT’S TIME TO GO.
WE’RE MOVING UP NORTH, TO TAKE A STEP BACK IN TIME,
TO A SMALL LITTLE TOWN, THAT MORE OF WHAT WE SEEK.
A BEAUTIFUL, PEACEFUL PLACE, WHERE THE PEOPLE SEEM TO CARE,
BUT LEAVING THE ONLY PLACE I’VE EVER KNOW, IN A HEART I FEEL A TEAR.
MY PARENTS CHOOSE THIS PLACE, FOR THE BEAUTY IT ONCE OWNED,
BUT SINCE PARENTS HAVE PASTED ON, I’VE FIND IT LESS THEN HOME.
I’VE GOT TO DO WHATS BEST FOR THIS NEW BORN SON OF MINE,
AND PRAY THAT THE REST OF THE WORLD DOES’NT FIND THIS PLACE IN TIME.
