Have you been listening? she snarled
Have you heard what I have said,
At lunchtime break tomorrow,
You must punch him in the head.
Watch out for any teachers,
Hide behind the trees,
Don't come home with grazes,
Or bruises on your knees.
He tried to hide fresh bruises,
He dried his weeping eyes,
But she was waiting at the gate,
Which caught him by surprise.
I can't believe your attitude,
How could it possibly be?
Choosing the passive option,
With parent's like dad and me.
Now find the boy real quick,
And bash him in the face,
Somewhere in my handbag,
I've brought your father's mace.
He found the boy in the cloakroom,
And told him of his plight,
The boy was grateful for the warning,
And apologised for the fight.
They left by the back gate,
And she waited alone til dark,
They made a new sound friendship
And played for hours in the park.

The twist at the end was the clincher for me. Great poem!!! Making the choice to avoid a conflict was so wise in my opinion. Really enjoyed reading this one!! I commend you.
