Back In The Year

Back In The Year

Back in the year,
Of nineteen seventy-one.
I was one,
Of my fathers three sons.

I thought I was,
A six-year-old know it all.
Truth be told,
To my britches was a little tall.

Truly I was,
A little hard to bear.
But my dad,
Had wisdom to spare.

He taught me values,
With the sternness of his voice.
And occasional his hand,
When I left him no choice.

I learned what hard work was,
By the example he led.
Many times he was still at work,
When I went to bed.

I grew up with,
Values, respect and esteem.
And the confidence,
To live out all of my dreams.

I own who I am now,
To the memory of that man.
Even though he’s gone,
I still hold his hand.

Hi,
this is so precious and reminds me of my dad deceased 7 years this month.
As our guardian angels they indeed hold our lives-n-hearts in their hands.
I remember when I finally broke Dad caught me and said, You've held me up long enuff, let me hold u now. Mom was right beside him deaceasd since 1979.
They still carry my loads and interceed on my behalf.
Didn't mean to write a book.
This is really great, straite from the heart.
peace, joy, luv, huggs,
emy
