Sittin’ in the ocean breeze
Got the radio turned down low
I hear somebody callin’ my name
Askin’ where all the hard times go
Walkin’ down the planks of the pier
I’ve never seen a more beautiful place
There’s a familiar voice I hear
Comin’ from a familiar face
Ridin’ horses right in the sand
As the sun sets across the sea
A familiar touch takes my hand
A touch that took me to where I wanted to be
Goin’ up and down on the track
As the coaster twists and turns time and time
A feeling I know crawls up my back
As I slip into a different state of mind
Lying down on the soft, surf’s sand
While a chill comes over my skin
I think I finally understand
This is the place my heart was in
Gazin’ at the stars in the sky
Amazed at how bright they shine
And as blissful minutes go by
A pair of blue eyes meets mine
Strollin’ back toward the inside
As a smile creeps upon my face
There’s nothing I need to hide,
I know I’m in love with this place
And as he closes the door
And wanders off to sleep
I know that I need nothing more
I got him and this place to keep
So, I’ll be sittin’ on the pier everyday
Livin’ how I wanted to be
I knew there had to be a way
‘Cause there had to be a way for me
