Abortion

Contributed by darien on Tuesday, 30th December 2003 @ 02:26:03 PM in AEST
Topic: oops

Amid thick tears that dash her face
Trace a line of hope
The depths of which her fears have shown
Denying her the scope

Of things that were not her fault
Sought out by those humble
There was a rock called "mistake"
That caused her life to stumble

On weak knees that barely hold
Against the steady roar
As those that have never sinned
Take this frail girl for

A woman despite her obvious age
She played an adult's game
She prays for an end that never comes
Then tries to place the blame

On the single perpetrator of this crime
Though it takes two to tango
And though she leads a new life of shame
There's nowhere else she can go

But to those humble to seek ammends
She seeks those with a dollar sign
And the one that claims to understand
Takes fifty percent to the dime

But now this lady has the status
That comes in six round figures
And all it cost was a child's life
He never placed his signiture

On the contract of life and death
This child never saw day
But then again there was no child
Or so the doctors say
