Rock Bottom

Contributed by CuttersAngel on Tuesday, 30th December 2003 @ 11:43:09 AM in AEST
Topic: DarkPoetry

The anger I have is so unreal
With this depression my fate is sealed
The yelling, screaming, all the fighting
Running away and all this hiding
Two tears slowly stream down my cheek
While writing this poem inside I weep
The silence I've kept through all these years
Has now become my family's deepest fear
When I lash out the truth is known
Revealing the feelings I've never shown
And after it's over and I'm finally done
Silence and shock starts to overcome
They never knew I felt this way
They never thought these things I'd say
They never knew I held this hate
And the only thing I can do is wait
My dad's never home, he lives his life
And left behind are his kids and wife
So I push him away and forget he exists
He asks what he's done and why I'm p*st
He gave up and left us all
Now rock bottom is where I fall.

Parents never know as much as they think they do. I know what that's like. I also relate to the part about your father. He was a big part of the reason I moved out. I really enjoyed this write, I'll be looking for more.

I've been there soooooo many times. I can't relate to the whole dad's never home thing but the poem as a whole was mindblowing as usual.
