Stars
I stare at the stars
As if they were placed in the sky
Just for us.
The beauty they display
Takes me back
To simpler times.
When we couldn’t get enough
Of each other’s love
Each other’s touch
Where did that time go?
How did it slip from our hands?
How do we get it back?
I’m told stars burn for untold years
Never losing their brilliant light
We can’t we be like the stars?
