I'M A WYOMING COWGIRL

Contributed by lovingcritters on Monday, 29th December 2003 @ 08:03:13 PM in AEST
Topic: HumorPoetry

I was born right her'n this Wyomin' State,
Good cowgirls never tell their age, or the date!
Some gals are born to be True Wyoming Cowgirls.
Others are just foolin' 'round, we call them,
"Toosey~Footin' Twirls!"

These her'n TFT's are born with mouths
full of Silver Spoons.
We TWC's all have splits in our front teeth,
for accurate aimin' inta' our spittoons!
The Silver Spoon type, is full of prissy hype,
and fancy costume.
Real Cowgirls don't ride them silly sissified hosses,
We tackle them big Long Horn Critters bare
handed, right from the womb!

Why we're so fast my friend, we don't even
need hosses to fend.
When we tackle us a steer, we run right at
it's rear, grab them big horns, and twists 'til
it swoons....controlled 'til the end!
We don't even need a hoss to rope a calf,
No Sireeee....
Rapidn' Fast, not half-assed, we meet 'em
head on...slip the noose over them th'r heads,
they don't even have time to git angry!!!

Bronco riders...we win all the prizes at them
th'r Cheyenne Frontier Days.
They give us them Big Bronco Twisters,
that twists ya' a million ways!
Just to look at one them critters, ya got have
guts of a"She Bear," and nerves of a
porcupine struttin' sideways!

"Tain't like it was when I was young neither....
Now they got rules, you gota 'member, while
your'n being twisted around like an egg beater!
Ya' gota' keep one hand up, and spurs....loose and scratchin'
On top of that you ain't allowed to change
you'rn hands, touch, or reach for nothin'

They ain't a goin' call ya' "Glory Rider" for
riding the range.....
Ya' earn that name for ridin' them Mean
Critters Twisters, infected with bad cases of mange!

I wantsya' all to know, I'm proud to called one
of them Wyomin' Cowgirl Critters.
I've ridn' so many, I feel like I'm glued
to one them hoofers.
When I slide backwards over it's rear end
and down it's tail.....
I might walk a wee bit "cow-legged,"
but I'm a proud Wyoming Female...
I can out rope, out ride, out last, any,
Wyomin' Cowboy Male!

"I'm known as "Lovingcritters" in these her'n
parts of Wyoming....
"Cause I'd ride most any a' critters just for the askin!"
I ain't knowed for nit~pickin'.....'xcuse me,
whi' I be a spitting!"

"This her'n poem's a big Whopper....
I ain't nev'r ridn' a big Long Horn
Twistr' but just writin' this, twist'd me
so bad...I gota' go see my Chiropract'r!"
