Emoticontinuity

Contributed by ShadowDaughter on Monday, 29th December 2003 @ 07:45:23 PM in AEST
Topic: HumorPoetry

The tiny face to which I am drawn
the expressive being known as “emoticon”
yellowish-orange with a blackened part
its virtues are many, so where shall I start?
I taunt thee with my acid tongue and razor wit
my smileys are blue, so why don't ye quit
golden and round, my beautiful sphere,
although all my blues are also held dear
a facade of feelings so profound
in this being rotund and round
no words can express how it is that I feel
but Smiley, here, can-- emotions he'll reveal
from happy to sad, which one will he pick
the feeling can be shown with just a click
if one chooses to stick out their tongue when online
here's one that can do it, this smiley o' mine
I've seen him cry, and those times when he smiled
I've seen him laughing, angry and riled
and here you can see the smileys' number one fan
the combined twin dementia of Nora and Dan!

Ah, yes, truly a labor of love (and hate). I don't see it as an overstatement to say that this is the best poem ever written by anybody in the history of the world --insert large amount of sarcasm here--

All kidding aside, just wanna say how much fun this was for us. Hope you all enjoy it, maybe it'll bring a smile to your day.

Truly, with my me-ness and Nora's umm,
Nora-ness,

-Dan

This is great. Emoticons finally got a poem written for them that -wasn't- out of hate!
